What a whirlwind this day was! On Camille's family's sprawling estate, they designed an elaborate celebration for all their friends and family to witness. Everything DIY, with Camille being the mastermind behind a lot of it herself. The decorations, the jewelry, the desserts, her mother even crocheted her gorgeous top. They truly outdid themselves. The coming together of Kevin & Camille was one that seemed natural and easy. Camille, full of life and vigor bopping around making sure the tables were set while cracking jokes and Kevin relaxing with his friends beforehand, these two knew their day was about each other and not stressing. Their fun loving ease showed all the way through the evening with a live band, drinks on deck and a coming together of their closest loved ones. I am so honored to have been the one to capture these two become one and could not be more happy for them! A "Wyse" choice indeed!
These two threw a wedding of a lifetime! With a pre-ceremony the day before at the beautiful St. Louis church in downtown Buffalo, Dan & Ashley pledged their love to one another in front of an intimate group of friends and family. Saturday was the day of the big festivities which all took place at the Hotel Henry. As a former Asylum for the insane which closed its doors forever in the 70's, this immaculate building was brought back to life in more ways than one last year. I had been dying to book a couple within these magnificent walls and not only did I, but Ashley is one of the kindest bride's I've had the pleasure of working with. I have spent years in the park connected with this venue with my dog Otto, laying in the grass admiring this architectural beauty to finally get to photograph the inside. I was over the moon! The ceremony took place right on the front steps, short and sweet. The night kicked off with many of group dances, light up glasses and a live band. I can honestly say I have never had a better meal than I had at their wedding! What might have been the best and a first for me, was when Chewbacca came to surprise Ashley out on the dance floor (pictured below). An overall beautiful and hilarious day and I couldn't be happier to have been a part of it.
I've known Raelyn since I first moved to Buffalo for college back in 2009. We immediately clicked with our large group of close friends commiserating over homework, going to concerts or even just making dinner at one another's apartments. Jon soon came into the picture and then never left. He became a fixture in Raelyn's life and we couldn't have been happier for it. The two of them complete each other... no, like they really do! They decided to marry in a place that is dear to them, Long Lake in the Adirondacks. On a beautiful, sunny afternoon I watched these two make the sweetest vows to each other. Full of promises, their hopes but most of all, their abundance of love. Not only is this my job but I truly find happiness in moments like these where I not only get to witness my loved one's biggest days but also curate it for memories to come. Thank you again Jon + Rae for having me!
Both Brooklyn residents, these two wanted to get outside the city life for their nuptials. When they contacted me about covering their big day, I was in! Especially after looking up what their venue looked like. Rolling hills at a stately manor right beside a lake was sounding more appealing by the minute. It blew me away seeing it in person! I will say that working weddings I have become a bit accustom to hearing the vows, the speeches, first dances, etc. Not on this day! The outpouring of genuine love at this wedding was almost too much for me to handle, especially Solara's mother's speech during dinner which had everyone reaching for their tissues. Their day was filled with tears, most of them happy, laughter and lots of dancing. Thank you again to these two for letting me be a part of the most important day of their lives. Congrats Zach + Solara!
Give me a good destination wedding and you bet I'm all about it. Now make that destination the Adirondacks and you've really got my attention! From the campfires, to the smell of the woods on a dewy morning, I'm in my element. So when Meghan & Justin asked me to join them on their weekend away, I said yes before they could finish asking the question. We really lucked out for beautiful weather in October so it was better than anyone could have hoped for. With a small ceremony overlooking the lake, all their friends and family got to witness their heartfelt union to one another with the mountains to bear witness. Everyone switched gears into party mode once cocktails begun flowing and that dance floor opened up. Meghan herself DJ'ed the perfect 90's playlist that had everyone breaking out their killer dance moves while others got to sit around a blazing campfire roasting marshmallows & making s'mores. We ended our night with an epic sparkler exit surrounded by the laughter of all their friends and families. In my opinion, it couldn't have been more perfect.
Serena got in touch with me a few weeks before her wedding in desperate search for a photographer. Thankfully, I had her date open! We met at her cozy gallery in West Seneca and decided we would be a great fit.
A little back story, Chrissy & Pedro married 18 years ago (holy moly!) and have lived happily ever after since. They started a family while Pedro ran his tattoo shop, Eternal Ink and Chrissy pursued her love of baking. During this time about 6 years ago, Serena came to work in their shop and as cheesy as it sounds, the rest was history. They have six beautiful children together and the love that radiates between their family is unmistakable. Being able to witness their friends and family join together to celebrate their union was truly special and I am humbled to have been a part of their big day. Congratulations to you all on finding love, no matter what shape or size it comes in!
I grew up in the Mohawk Valley but have relocated to Buffalo for the past six years. I'm always ecstatic when I have an excuse to come home. And especially when its for a storybook wedding like Kaylee & Ryan's. I have fond memories of Cooperstown from my childhood, so when Kaylee told me the location; I was ready! The entire day was humble, the love they shared was nurtured and real. We couldn't have asked for a better day or location. But what I can say caught me off guard was how good a dancer Kaylee is! Her and Ryan choreographed their first dance and went from the jive all the way to the dirty dancing move. Did I mention I have a terrible sweet tooth? This was my downfall in the night because they had an ENTIRE ROOM dedicated to all different types of pastries beyond your imagination. I might have gained five pounds but gained yet another heartfelt memory that love exists in all pockets of the world. You just have to be looking for it.
My oh my, I can't even to begin to describe how beautiful Erich & Elise's wedding was last month. Thankfully I don't have to because my writing skills is not how I pay the bills! The entire day was really relaxed with an airiness of simplistic, yet beautiful aesthetics that Elise, I'm sure painstakingly picked out. Most of all, these two are high school sweethearts! Can you believe it? In attendance of all their friends and family, these two made a commitment to each other legally although it was obvious they had long before this day. You want to know my favorite part though? Their family has a little tradition that began 16 couples ago. Pictured below is a velvet Elvis painting that was originally given to a couple as a wedding gift. Now it get's passed on to whoever marries next! Each person signs the back and would you believe..... Everyone who has had this painting, is still married! Good luck charm? I think so. I hope Elvis brings you both a little luck and happiness, although I'm sure you won't need it!
I did Rick & Veronica's engagement session last year at Chestnut Ridge and immediately could tell how close they were. They so graciously had me back for not only their first wedding; thats right, they had two! The amount of details and DIY put into this rustic yet elegant wedding at Knox Farms was truly fantastic. Throughout the day, neither of them could keep the smile from beaming off their faces; even if it was 90 degrees. But don't worry, they supplied us all with Freeze Pops to cool down. From the horse drive carriage rides to the surprise fireworks off in the distance, this was truly a night to remember. Thanks for having me be a part of it! Congrats to you two!
I met Carl & Heather last year for their engagement session here in Buffalo. These two are quick witted and most definitely perfect for each other. During our shoot, Carl was cracking jokes to ease their way into having their photos done. I could expect no less on their wedding day. I had such a blast watching them interact and really appreciate one another. Not to mention, everyone really broke it down when some N*Sync came on (I, included). The entire day felt so surreal with the majestic setting of the gardens which to my surprise and glee, were jam packed of picture-esque locations that we couldn't possibly hit them all. But I think we did a pretty ok job. Congratulations Heather & Carl! I'm looking forward to seeing what the future holds for you two.
