While I have resided in Buffalo for almost a decade, I originally am from the Upstate New York. I travel there often, sometimes three times a month although sometimes less. It is certainly somewhere that is not only very dear to me but magical in its own way. Luckily for me, I was able to book up my entire weekend with some winter mini sessions back home. So not only did I get to photograph a bunch of adorable family's romping around in the snow, I also got to spend quality time with family and friends. You will notice a theme between these three sessions and it's crazy coincidence, (it's not the snow) but all three of these lovely ladies are expecting! Congratulations to Audrey, Brittie & Tracy on their new arrivals!
I've been taking photos of this little girl since before she was born! It's been amazing watching her go from growing in Courtney's belly, soothing her during her newborn pictures, coming back for her 6 month milestone and now we're here for her first full trip around the sun. In true Christmas fashion, we got the sled out with a few early presents and took advantage of this absolutely beautiful day here in Central New York. We did a quick outfit change into the most adorable outfit that her mom custom made for her themed birthday party; Alice in Wonderland.
A big thank you to Litchfield Tree Farm for allowing us the perfect location for our photos. If you're last minute looking for a Christmas Tree, this is the place to go!
Farm Location: 590 Silver Street, Ilion, NY 13357
This adorable family contacted me for some last minute family photos while they were in town visiting. And surprise, they are from my hometown of Utica! We chatted a bit about where we were all from and romped around in the snow. It was a quick session because it was a brisk morning but I had such a lovely time working with them. I love when worlds collide!
I've known Raelyn and Hanna for almost 8 years now. We met back in the glory days of our early college years and have stayed friends ever since. I love all my clients equally but their family is just so goofy and such a pleasure to be around. We spent the day strolling (and sweating) in Akron Falls Park yesterday while everyone in the group made sure to make us all laugh and make us forget about the heat a little bit. Thanks again to the Woltz's for having me capture their beautiful family!
I've known Ana for awhile in that weird way you know people in 2017; the internet. I've seen her family grow and blossom over these few years and was excited when we decided to work together. Harrison, like all three year olds was a ball of contagious energy while his sister Sofia likes to sit back and observe. They seem to have found a balance between the four of them, fitting ever so perfectly together as one unit. Thank you for letting me capture these little glimpses into your beautiful family life Ana & Nick!
Krista contacted me a few weeks ago asking me if I was available for her family fourth of July party. They were coming in from out of town and wanted someone to document this crazy idea she had and I couldn't have jumped on this quicker. She had everything laid out when I showed up, paint, brushes & colored dust. After some "clean" formal family portraits, Krista gave the go ahead and thats when the chaos ensued. There was paint EVERYWHERE. Flying through the air, I dodged streams of acrylic and then BAM, bursts of hi-lighter colored dust coming from far left. Imagine twenty plus adults running & screaming with the largest smiles plastered onto their faces. It's good to let go every once and awhile and let that inner child out. It was an absolute pleasure to witness. The kids however weren't as impressed with this activity. Thank you again Krista for letting my document this absolutely insane, colorful and beautiful day with your family. You guys are the best!
It feels like just yesterday I was photographing my friend's Courtney & Alex's newborn daughter. She was a tiny, wriggling little thing that couldn't keep her tongue in her mouth but was wide eyed at her new surroundings. Now she's made a trip halfway around the sun and the differences are astounding. She's self aware, smiley and just starting to get her balance. She can even hold her own bottle! I can't wait to see how this little family grows & grows.
Sara is one of my very best friends. We met in summer camp back in 1999, ultimately ended up going to the same middle school and then graduated together. We've been through it all; fights, tears, tears from laughter and maybe a little more fighting. What can I say, we fight like sisters. Along this ride has been her family which I have adopted as my second family. Sorry guys, you had no choice in it all. Now I have a niece, Quinn who was born on the other side of the country. I finally got to meet her this weekend and she's literally the most quiet baby I have ever met. A baby after my own heart. Unfortunately they will be headed back to California as of tomorrow but that just means I'll have to pack my suitcase for my annual Lake Tahoe trip. Here's some shots of our day at Brantingham Lake and our venture to Fly Creek Cider Mill. BTW, if you haven't been there; what are you waiting for?!
It's always been such lovely thing to live so close to my family. Close being a relative term, but close enough for me. The Mohawk Valley has always been a coming together point for my rather large family on my mothers side. And thats because my ten uncles and aunts all grew up in this area. Now they are scattered all over the United States but always make trips back to their original home. On this particular occasion, my cousins Arthur & Shannon came down from NYC and my Uncle, Donny from Mississippi. We spent the weekend together eating fish fry's, checking out art festivals and barbecuing it up. It was relaxing, fun and just what I needed. In our small amount of time, we managed to get some family sessions done not only for my visiting cousins, but my sister Brittie, Kyle and my sort of brand new nephew Jackman. There is a cuteness overload here; so warning advised.
Working with Ashley's family and friends over the past month has been so great and honestly a ton of fun. First with FarmFest, then Nick & Lisa's wedding and now their own family session. They really liked the candid work I do and wanted to emulate that through this session so we chose to go the route of a lifestyle shoot. Basically we all just go to hang out and play with Little Hank and the cutest golden, Bernie. Also, I can't stand how stinkin' cute Hank is. But I'll let the photos speak for themselves. Here's the Lewis's!
