These two helped me kick off the 2019 season and it honestly couldn’t have proved to be a better day, especially with the crappy weather WNY has been giving us lately. Akron Acres is one of my favorite venues to photograph at due to how many lovely nooks and crannies they have on their property. Plus, the obviously stunning new barn they built! The real treat was that Kristen & Adam graciously served their guests Fat Bob’s BBQ for dinner which I could not have been more excited about. I’m still thinking about that Brisket. We ended the night with some dancing and a Smores Bar. Thank you again so much for having me on your special day!
I've known Raelyn since I first moved to Buffalo for college back in 2009. We immediately clicked with our large group of close friends commiserating over homework, going to concerts or even just making dinner at one another's apartments. Jon soon came into the picture and then never left. He became a fixture in Raelyn's life and we couldn't have been happier for it. The two of them complete each other... no, like they really do! They decided to marry in a place that is dear to them, Long Lake in the Adirondacks. On a beautiful, sunny afternoon I watched these two make the sweetest vows to each other. Full of promises, their hopes but most of all, their abundance of love. Not only is this my job but I truly find happiness in moments like these where I not only get to witness my loved one's biggest days but also curate it for memories to come. Thank you again Jon + Rae for having me!
Both Brooklyn residents, these two wanted to get outside the city life for their nuptials. When they contacted me about covering their big day, I was in! Especially after looking up what their venue looked like. Rolling hills at a stately manor right beside a lake was sounding more appealing by the minute. It blew me away seeing it in person! I will say that working weddings I have become a bit accustom to hearing the vows, the speeches, first dances, etc. Not on this day! The outpouring of genuine love at this wedding was almost too much for me to handle, especially Solara's mother's speech during dinner which had everyone reaching for their tissues. Their day was filled with tears, most of them happy, laughter and lots of dancing. Thank you again to these two for letting me be a part of the most important day of their lives. Congrats Zach + Solara!
Richelle and I are both from a small town nestled into the hills of Central NY called Frankfort. We've essentially known each other our entire lives. Justin is the cousin of one of my best friends from here in Buffalo, so when I say world's colliding happens often; I'm really not kidding!
I couldn't have created a more perfect couple. Richelle and Justin offer a ton to learn about being in love and maintaining a healthy relationship. They support one another in their endeavors, they always include each other and most importantly, they make sure to laugh together. I can truly tell how much love there is between them when they look at one another and it is magical. Their wedding was one of a kind due to their love of Halloween. There was skeletons, vampire teeth, even Jason made an appearance! So many surprises happened during this reception. Richelle & Justin choreographed an 8 minute long dance that was dramatic and fun. Richelle herself surprised Justin with a song she wrote herself and then performed live in front of all their family and friends. They really sent me out with a bang for the end of my 2017 season. I can't thank you both enough for having me on your special day. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Acker!
About a year and a half ago, I photographed Kelly's twin sisters' wedding at the Sonnenburg Gardens in Canandaigua. Now it's her & Jake's turn. Space so graciously offered up their location to us to shoot in and I am so pleased that they did. The light in this place was fantastic! I absolutely loved the true Buffalo Industrial vibe we got to play around with here. Did I mention there were pinball machines downstairs? Because there are and we definitely got to play them. I'm so looking forward to getting to work with these two again on October 13th, 2018!
Where do I even begin! I absolutely love working with the Capozzi family. Last year, I photographed Lena's cousins wedding which was when the T-Rex made an appearance! (Go back a few posts to find evidence of this) Now it was Lena's turn.
They decided to keep their special day a bit more intimate with just close friends & family joining them. Lena & Laird's love story is a right out of a novel. Lena run's her own Juice Bar that Laird began frequently visiting after noticing the cute owner (Lena, wink wink!). He would not so subtlety sit in the cafe peeking from behind a newspaper to steal quick glances at her. He finally asked her out and that was just two years ago. The rest is history! The love that permeated throughout the entire day was indescribable. Within the cozy confines of Grange Community Kitchen in Hamburg, everyone was connected.
Let's give a big congratulations to these newlyweds & well wishes for time to come!
I couldn't be more honored to have been a part of Tom & Hollis's wedding day. Their vows were sweet, honest and straight from their hearts. The two of them truly found their other halves within one another and that much was apparent. Her daughter made a speech during the ceremony where she had said "Thank you Tom for bringing back my mom. I hadn't realized how much I missed her." Those words resonated with me. While it is absolutely possible to be happy and fulfilled being single, there is so much joy in finding another person to share those moments with. No matter what age, race or ethnicity you are, we all deserve genuine love.
Where do I start? Leah & Nick both have such large personalities, but together? They are electric. They were so goofy and more importantly, just so, so happy on their wedding day. Leah cried about 100 times (happy tears!) and made sure to make everyone else cry too. But how in the world do you top your groom running in for his introduction in a giant, blowup T-Rex costume? I'll tell you how. When Leah snuck a Smirnoff Ice under her dress to "Ice" Nick during their garter ceremony. I couldn't stop laughing for most of the day as I'm sure neither could anyone else. These two are truly one of the most fun loving couples I have met to date. I couldn't be happier to have been able to witness such a blissful day.
My oh my, I can't even to begin to describe how beautiful Erich & Elise's wedding was last month. Thankfully I don't have to because my writing skills is not how I pay the bills! The entire day was really relaxed with an airiness of simplistic, yet beautiful aesthetics that Elise, I'm sure painstakingly picked out. Most of all, these two are high school sweethearts! Can you believe it? In attendance of all their friends and family, these two made a commitment to each other legally although it was obvious they had long before this day. You want to know my favorite part though? Their family has a little tradition that began 16 couples ago. Pictured below is a velvet Elvis painting that was originally given to a couple as a wedding gift. Now it get's passed on to whoever marries next! Each person signs the back and would you believe..... Everyone who has had this painting, is still married! Good luck charm? I think so. I hope Elvis brings you both a little luck and happiness, although I'm sure you won't need it!
