You know when you just click with people? Thats how it was when I first met Rick & Veronica just four days ago. We had a quick consultation over coffee and I think we both knew we were a great fit to work together. These two wanted to get some wonderful fall foliage engagement photos in, so we dived right in the following Sunday. The weather was a bit windy but all in all, it ended up being a gorgeous day. Take a peek to see more from our day down below!
I have never seen more people dance in all the weddings I have shot. Nick & Lisa decided going against getting the traditional DJ and hired a live band to play for most of the night. I don't even know how to describe what genre they were, but they had the entire crowd on their feet! These two were such a fun bunch and we had the best time shooting their wedding. It was a little untraditional but thats what we loved about it! No seating charts, open dinner, art deco decor and the live band, I could keep going. At some points, I honestly felt like I could have been in The Great Gatsby (I think thats what they were going for, so job well done!) But enough gabbing, here's the pictures!
In addition to my own business, I shoot for a company called Lasting Impressions based in Clarence, NY. I started with them just shy of four years ago and have been growing ever since. I learned many techniques, the lay of the land per say and the overall ins and outs of photographing a wedding during my time working with them. Kathy & Tony are the owners of this business and in the short four years that I've worked for them, they have become people I admire and consider friends. Our time together will be cut short with my move this October but I can't thank them enough for the opportunities they gave me with my time here. Anthony is their son and Lexi, their new daughter. The joining of their two families was one to remember and one I won't soon forget. The love that circulated throughout the room was immense and overall, everyone had a wonderful time. So without further a due, Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Gagliardi!
One thing I love about Buffalo and our community is that we always strive to keep the arts alive. That's why I was so happy when the Nickel City Theatre Group approached me about photographing their annual Charity Gala at the Saturn Club. It was great to see so many people get together in the name of Theatre. There was a live band, raffles, auctions, wonderful food plus drinks and of course, some opera thrown in right at the end. The night was a huge success and I was glad to be a part of it.
Gina approached me at the Nickel City Theatre Charity Gala a few weeks ago about her new up and coming business venture. She creates athletic wear that is not only stylish, but affordable. When we chatted, she explained to me how inspired she was by her community when she went to her local gym but faced an issue that many of her friends had run into: unaffordable workout gear. Her brand is all about giving you quality, comfort and something you wouldn't mind wearing on the go, not only at the gym. She also wants to state that anyone can wear these garments, young & old. Meeting and working with Gina was wonderful. You can tell how passionate she is about her business and her work. All she really wants is for others, just like herself to be happy, healthy and fashion forward all without breaking the bank. Check out her Facebook page to get more information on AWA2GO!
Brian & Jackie are one of the sweetest couples I have met in quite some time. From the moment they did their first look, I could tell how in love they were and especially how easily they could make each other laugh. These two did away with most of the traditional parts of a wedding and stuck to the basics to ensure that the most fun was had. The reception got wild and I had an absolute blast being a part of their day. Best of luck to you both!
